These Syracuse family portraits on film are natural and authentic. Film captures a realness that I love. As a New York Photographer based in the Adirondacks and traveling frequently to NYC, the finger lakes and beyond I often meet up with my clients. Having photographed Andrea + Matt’s wedding, engagement and multiple friends weddings… this session was a reunion of sorts. The trust that comes with returning to the same photographer is unmatched.
Syracuse family portrait session on film at six months
Andrea and Matt welcomed Luke into their family. Although we didn’t capture the newborn stage I love that we photographed him while he was still little. Just learning to sit up, not quite mobile is such a fun age to document. Usually this is around 6 months old. This picture below, where he is just practicing sitting in this beautiful atrium of the home, is iconic to me.
Documenting natural family photos
Including activities around the home – like playing piano, putting on a record, dancing to music – is one of my favorite ways to photograph life. Start with the things you love to do most, and just invite your photographer in to witness them. Having a love for mid-century modern furniture and vintage pieces, Andrea and Matt has a space well suited for their session. Natural light poured in through the house and they have a clear sense of their personal style.
I recently started working with an interior designer who I love – and recommend if you are looking to refine your home’s style.
