Full Moon Resort was sunny on the October day Jaclyn + Scott celebrated their wedding. Always in search of adventure and wide open spaces, this couple traveled up to the Catskills from NYC while I traveled down from the Adirondacks. They pledged their love standing under the chuppah. It was a stunning day, and I smile every time I think about it.
Jaclyn and Scott reached out to me about being their wedding photographer and I asked a few questions to get to know them more. Scott is also photographer who loves traveling to the most out of reach places to capture landscapes. Jaclyn is a determined entrepreneur who knows exactly what she likes. I knew I could meet both of their expectations (and exceed them) and I’m so happy they posted this review :
Catskills Wedding Photographer Mary Dougherty
Mary was such a pleasure to work with! She was very easy going. We worked together to create the perfect engagement session which was nice to get to know her and see how great she is at her job. She is incredible at working with the outdoors and natural light. She knows exactly where and how we should stand at all times in any location. When it came time for our wedding, I felt confident in Mary that she’d find perfect spots on property to take photos and she’d capture our magical wedding day. We absolutely love our wedding photos, they’re gorgeous! Light, airy, magical and perfect! We would love to work with Mary again!!

Full Moon Resort Catskills Wedding Venue
Tucked in the hills of upstate New York is this Catskills wedding venue. Just down the road from favorites like Phoenicia Diner and Foxfire Mountain House it’s closer than you think.
What struck me about the location was the diversity. Yurts and new cabins allowed a larger group to stay on site and enjoy a getaway.
Getting Ready at Full Moon Resort
The new cabins and the main house hosted the bridal parties. The girls assembled in a few cabins for hair and makeup, and kept another clean for getting dressed which was so helpful!
First Look at Full Moon Resort
Jaclyn and Scott met in the field for their first look. It was sunny and warm and a little bit out of the way from guests. It was so fun to see their reaction at the start of the day, and it was no less emotional at the ceremony.
The bridal party joined in for pictures after the first look, and family after that… with enough time to sign the ketubah before the ceremony.
Full Moon Resort Wedding Ceremony
Guests walked to the ceremony space which was near the creek and surrounded by autumn leaves.
Wedding Reception at Full Moon Resort
While cocktail hour took place in the barn, the finishing touches were put in place at the reception space. Soon everyone flowed over and enjoyed all of the music, delicious food and time dancing!
While the party kept going we stepped out for a moment with sparklers to end their set of images with a memorable moment. Did you love looking back at this day as much as I did? Comment below!
