A Skaneateles Country Club Wedding under a sailcloth tent with a wooden dance floor is everyone’s dream. Or it will be now. Maggie and Ian invited family and friends from near and far to Skaneateles. Close to both Rochester and Syracuse, it is a quaint Finger Lakes town with beautiful lake views and a perfect wedding setting.
I love this couple so much, because they are the real thing. Maggie and Ian are genuine people who I have enjoyed getting to know since their engagement session in Annapolis. I came down to the Naval Academy to document the place they live, got engaged, and started their relationship. It wasn’t long ago that Maggie came down to visit and didn’t tell her brother she was there. She visited Ian and the rest is history. I can not wait to see what everyone thinks about the images from this day because I know they will play a huge roll in remembering and telling this story.

The best thing about a Skaneateles country Club Wedding in June is that the weather is so incredibly beautiful. There is a reason June is one of the most popular months for weddings (September is the other).
Swans floated in the pool outside, and a mimosa station was nearby. The day began at home, where Maggie grew up, with her closest girls around her. The guys were down the road at another house swinging golf clubs and figuring out how to tie bow ties.
It was clear this day was different from the beginning. Any day can be beautiful, but the energy that surrounded these moments was unforgettable. With a wedding in town at St. Mary’s Church, Maggie pulled up in a vintage Bentley and went inside. Eyes welled as she walked down the aisle arm in arm with her dad. They said their vows and kissed and it was time to celebrate.
I love everything about a tent wedding. It’s nice and bright, and stays like that longer. It is simple and clean, a visual palette cleanser. It can be dressed up so many different ways and really personalized. This Finger Lakes Tent Wedding combined classic elegance with modern luxury and impressed everyone.
I could not love documenting this day more, but I’ll have to settle with re-living it in photographs along with you. Enjoy the full gallery and reach out to work with me in 2020 – only 9 spaces left!
