A Sleepy Hollow Country Club Wedding is elegant and classic, like something straight out of a Jane Austen novel. Nestled in the hills of Briarcliff Manor, New York, lies the stately Woodlea Clubhouse, first built as a Vanderbilt Mansion. Chelsea and Ben hosted friends and family who traveled from all over the world on their wedding weekend. So many traveled from Ben’s home country of Australia to be present for the event.
Chelsea and Ben met through connections in golf course design. Ben worked with Chelsea’s dad in the creation of the 2016 course at the Rio Olympics. Later they took on the Sleepy Hollow course renovation. It was during a visit to the country club that Chelsea and Ben first talked about getting married.
Fast forward a few years, and with the Hudson River as their backdrop, Chelsea and Ben exchanged their vows. Chelsea wore a stunning Theia beaded dress from Lovely Bride Philadelphia. It fit the venue’s stately presence and added intricate detail to her look. Florals by Dana Worlock at Hedgerow & Co. were a delicate mix of florals and berries.
Sleepy Hollow Country Club Wedding
Sleepy Hollow is charming and grand. As a result, it provided the perfect elements of classic simplicity for Chelsea and Ben. The lawn was a welcoming space for cocktails before heading under the tent for a reception. Instead of a large bridal party, with an hour for pictures, Chelsea and Ben kept it simple and we shot everything in 15 minutes. Everyone danced the night away, and enjoyed delicious Milk Bar cake for dessert. Above all, they enjoyed the company of the people they love the most.
As an Adirondack based wedding photographer who travels, I am frequently in NYC and the Hudson Valley. My first meeting with Chelsea and Ben was in Brooklyn for their engagement session. Photographing their wedding was an honor as they are two of the kindest people I have worked with.
