This intimate Geneva on the Lake wedding was my first of 2020, as a result of Covid-19. Planning a wedding during a pandemic is no easy task. Many people are coming up with plan B + C as they try to navigate these times. Some have postponed until next year, chosen a small celebration now and something else later… but Alex + Erin decided to make their day happen no matter what. One thing was certain : they would get married.

Planning a wedding during Covid-19

I admire their determination and flexibility. They waited to see what the governor would allow for a wedding in New York during Covid-19. The finger lakes were just entering phase 4 of opening. Groups of 50 could gather and that meant their immediate family could come.

Traveling in an Airstream

Alex and Erin made a decision early into quarantine to rent an Airstream and spend a weekend camping. They loved it. A few weeks later they decided to buy their own. An Airstream allowed them to travel safely from St. Louis to Geneva for their wedding.

Upstairs in a suite at Geneva on the Lake the girls prepared with masks on. Outside, with the Airstream parked in a field Alex fed their beloved dog Enzo before meeting his groomsmen.

The benefit of a modified wedding day was that it was so much more intimate and relaxed. While we stuck to the schedule we had flexibility to move things around.

Wedding Photos at Geneva on the Lake

Geneva on the Lake has iconic black and white striped awnings and European inspired architecture. With beautiful light and stunning views it is the perfect Finger Lakes Wedding Venue.
