Portland, Maine was the location they chose for their Maine elopement. The initial plan was for a different kind of wedding. A big day in Skaneateles. I think everyone currently living through the covid-19 pandemic can relate. The only difference is Logan + Garrett’s celebration took place a few years ago. Before everyone was hosting intimate ceremonies and eloping to simplify everything about gathering people… these two paved the way.

Changing your wedding plans + eloping
For Logan + Garrett it was all about simplifying. They came to a point where the decisions became too many and the opinions too different. Could they have a meaningful and beautiful wedding without their family and friends around? The answer was yes. Would it eliminate the stress that made planning a wedding not fun to begin with? Yes.
Logan and Garrett narrowed down the locations for their elopement based on what was beautiful, memorable and would allow their dog. They settled on fall in Maine. Even though winter is just ending the thought of colorful leaves, chunky knit sweaters and cozy fires is still appealing. Inn by the Sea was the perfect host for their weekend wedding. Not only do they offer elopement packages, their dog was welcome too.
Portland Maine Elopement
Despite all our efforts, we could not control the weather. Rain on the actual wedding day allowed us less flexibility with locations. So we also shot the morning after at the Portland Head Light. The view of the ocean and rocky beach are a perfect location for pictures. Also, the best part about elopements are the ease with which you can change things.
