Proposing in Lake Placid would add meaning to an already special place : the Adirondacks. Derek and Alexa had come for years. Now that they lived farther away time on Mirror Lake was even more meaningful. It was a place they could come back to, and these pictures will help tell their story. Derek reached out as he was planning the details of his proposal. It was amazing to see everything come to life. Together we narrowed down the location on Mirror Lake, the set up and flowers (from Little Farmhouse Flowers) and how he would ask. A large sign was in front of the lake with the words : ” Marry Me? ” and he led Alexa down to ask that very question.

A custom bottle of Casa Migos was made to celebrate the occasion. A weekend of new memories in Lake Placid with the best drinks!

I set up the sign, brought the champagne and flowers and waited in the bushes. Derek and Alexa walked down the steps towards Mirror Lake and stopped in front of the sign. It’s a story they will tell for many years and I loved being their proposal photographer.
Proposing in Lake Placid
When deciding where to propose in Lake Placid you first have to think about how many people you want around. If you are the adventurous type, looking to hike a mountain or get the best view, choose an off season time (fall weekdays are best). In the summer, a private lake view will give you the best mountain and sunset images without much effort.
Proposing in Lake Placid can happen anywhere, if you don’t have a list of favorite places start here :
- Mirror Lake
- Indian Head
- Whiteface Summit

Congratulations Derek + Alexa and all the best as you begin wedding planning!
