Elegant Emerson Park Pavilion Wedding by Film Photographer Mary Dougherty. A blush and gray wedding looks good any day, but the combination of finger lakes ease and creamy images on film that really make it shine. It was so beautiful, with a ceremony under a canopy of trees and a dance the night away party. It all took place at Emerson Park Pavilion, a favorite lakeside venue outside of Syracuse in Auburn, New York.

Meggie and Andrew are the genuine souls who said I do and wed in these perfect colors. They invited family to join them on the lake not far from the family lake house Meggie spent many summer days enjoying. For Andrew’s family, that meant traveling from Ireland to this tiny corner of New York; while Meggie and Andrew call Brooklyn home, Ireland is where Andrew grew up.

A truly international affair, it was a wedding not just about these two wonderful people, but their guests. Their priority was for everyone to have the best time celebrating and they did so with the help of Lovewell, one of my favorite wedding planners in the area. It was a wedding I loved being a part of (and I may say that often, but it’s absolutely true) and I’m so thankful to have joined Meggie + Andrew to document a day they will remember forever.

Blush + Gray Wedding Colors

Flowers on film just can’t be beat. Flowers tend to anchor a wedding day color scheme and allow everyone to have a piece of the palette, and made this Elegant Emerson Park Pavilion Wedding. These peonies and roses with eucalyptus really bring it all together. I love the creamy tones captured on my Contax 645 with Fuji 400. Also, how can you not love this bride? Meggie you are like sunshine!

Meggie’s Monique Lhuillier dress was an expertly crafted lace A-line gown. Getting ready at the Hilton in Auburn gave us the perfect windows and light for these images!

Pre Ceremony Pictures

Taking pictures before the ceremony doesn’t mean there will be a first look. You can capture everything in different places and still enjoy the moments of walking down the aisle with complete suspense. However, in my opinon the aisle moment is always magically, with a first look or without. If your schedule requires it, or your nerves will benefit from a first look – don’t hesitate!

Meggie + Andrew didn’t have a first look, but we had fun taking lots of pictures with the girls on the other side of the park before the ceremony. Afterwards, we gathered for formal photos and a few bridal party shots, but keeping the list short gave Meggie + Andrew some time at cocktail hour with their guests.

Elegant Emerson Park Pavilion Wedding

Emerson park is stunning! Even though rain looked like a possibility the ceremony was able to be held outdoors under a canopy of trees that made a perfect aisle.

Lakeside weddings are so beautiful and there are so many different finger lake wedding venues to choose from! The sunset sky even went well with the blush and gray wedding colors.

Inside Emerson Park Pavilion there is basically a blank canvas for you to design the perfect set up for your wedding reception. I love the long center table for the bridal party and guests and the flower runner that ran the length of that long table.

The dancing started off right away and went through the night – with a few breaks for eating + toasts of course. The band Joey Scott & the Connection did an awesome job!

I hope you enjoyed a few of my favorites from this beautiful blush and gray wedding day! Meggie and Andrew I’m so happy for both of you – and I could be wrong but I think for someone who does not enjoy taking photos it might have been slightly enjoyable?

A classic Cape Cod wedding never goes out of style, especially at the Kittansett Club.

A Chautauqua wedding is stunning no matter the size. Karen and Walker pivoted to host the most amazing micro wedding at this historic American retreat.
