Whiteface Mountain Engagement

This Whiteface mountain engagement is shot on film, full of beautiful tones and double exposures that will take your breath away.

This Whiteface mountain engagement is one of my favorite Adirondack sessions ever. I know that’s a bold statement, but I just keep coming back to them. Logan and Garrett came up to Lake Placid for their photos and enjoyed a getaway to the Mirror Lake Inn. We drove up Whiteface in the afternoon. Taking advantage of a beautiful sunny day we wrapped up around sunset.

While going up Whiteface is not new, this set of film photographs is unlike any others you have seen. The beautiful skin tones, soft light and compelling double exposures are different. Learn more about my work here.

As a Saranac Lake local I am nearby to Wilmington (home of Whiteface), Lake Placid, Keene and Jay and know the area. Looking for a unique elopement spot, want to plan a romantic lake shoot or dream up something new? I would love to as your Adirondack wedding and portrait photographer.

plan a Whiteface Mountain engagement session

The best place to start planning your own Whiteface Mountain engagement session is by getting in touch with me, or your other favorite photographer. Start with when we are available and plan ahead for your preferred time. A weekday in the open season is going to be less busy than a weekend. The hours of the Whiteface Veterans Memorial Highway are updated yearly. Typically the road opens mid-May and closes in early October. Here are a few other tips :

  • plan for a time between May – September when the road is open
  • avoid holiday weekends when it will be packed
  • the elevator to the top is occasionally broken, you can walk the stone steps to the top but should bring shoes to do so
  • you will not be able to shoot at sunset as the last car goes up at 4:30 and the road closes at 5:00
