Introducing my go-to summer 2011 wedding outfit. It changes with the season, but this combination – a black skirt + top with a few fun details – and variations of it has served me well. I usually do adjust depending on the formality of the wedding, location, season, etc… but let me tell you this look is versatile, or at least I think so. Most of you will only see me in it once, unless you belong to a certain group of friends whose weddings I have all photographed… and in that case I apologize for the repetition.

So, to break it down even further here are the details:

skirt + top : banana republic

bag: shootsac ( I like it, but I feel like it’s already starting to come apart – do I put too much in it or do other people have the same problem?)

belt + flowers + earrings: J.Crew

hair: this is where I need help. After a long hot day of shooting and running around for pictures, it’s almost impossible to keep my hair looking nice. Of course, this is mostly a summer problem when the temps extend past the 80’s and the humidity – oh the humidity, I don’t even need to go there and you know what I’m saying.

ps. thanks Tami for shooting with me and taking this picture!

A classic Cape Cod wedding never goes out of style, especially at the Kittansett Club.

A Chautauqua wedding is stunning no matter the size. Karen and Walker pivoted to host the most amazing micro wedding at this historic American retreat.
