Style. It’s something that comes naturally – occasionally learned but never forced – and it’s easy to spot those that have it. Carli and Dan are two such stylish people, and since their wedding was simply an extension on themselves, it was as well. Combining their impeccable taste with their desire to host an event truly welcoming for family and friends led them to plan a wedding hard to describe. With touches of tradition as well as breaks thereof they crafted a day unique to themselves. A simple color palette of pinks, white and grey were a sophisticated choice, used to accent and build a scene that Emerson Pavilion has surely never seen before. Thoughtful touches and a unique timeline allowed guests to enjoy the evening at their leisure and honestly at the end of the night I don’t think anyone wanted it to be over.
I knew since I met Carli and Dan that their day was going to be different. Their approach was refreshing and I couldn’t help but be drawn in to the excitement of planning their day. I honestly love when that happens. I think they were as excited to work with me as I was with them and for that I’m truly grateful. I hope you all enjoy a look into their elegant wedding day which I would photograph again in a heartbeat!
Carli and her bridesmaids got ready at her parent’s home in Auburn, New York while Dan and the boys were in a nearby lake house. The day was bright and sunny, warm enough that you knew it was summer but cool enough that you could enjoy it.Her gorgeous Lazarro one shoulder wedding dress fit like a glove and is so far one of my favorites to date. Bridesmaids wore a variety of styles of grey Watters dresses to suit their taste and personality which I think is always a good choice.
The wedding paper goods were designed (very well I might add) by Lacey Perkins and were the perfect backdrop for a few of the ring shots.
A lush bouquet of various pinks added just the right amount of color to the girl’s ensembles, while hair and makeup was expertly done by the talented Sara Scollan.
After all of the preparations were finished, it was time to head to the historic Willard Chapel for the ceremony to begin!
Soon Carli and Dan stood at the front as husband and wife and exited to start the celebration with their guests at nearby Emerson Park Pavilion in Auburn, New York. Recently the pavilion underwent a huge renovation and is a perfect site for weddings and events.
The flower girls were adorable… and they were enamored with Carli (who wasn’t, she is stunning) and so cute especially around her.
Carli and Dan are naturals. They can make each other laugh, they love being close and are comfortable doing so in front of the camera. Have you guys had practice, because seriously you’re good.
Oh the reception! I love how they set up their reception and the two rooms at the pavilion and adjoining deck made it possible. Several Dinner stations were set up for guests to visit and enjoy at any point in the evening, while simultaneously taking breaks to stop and talk or hit the dance florr for as long as they like! Their table number was on a bottle of raspberry lemonade which they picked up upon arrival and immediately could enjoy!
The band Rochester Brass Taxi kept the dance floor packed and the reception lively, which everyone enjoyed. It was the perfect way to celebrate a wedding and I’m so glad I could be there to document. Special thanks to Tami for coming all the way to second shoot :) I hope you enjoyed and I’d love for you to leave a comment below or follow me here to stay in touch!
