Little Lucy arrived and changed everything. That’s what babies do. Life looks different with one by your side and it’s an amazing thing to watch another person grow and see your family take shape. It is especially beautiful when that family is started with a couples whose wedding you photographed. It really doesn’t get any better.

With my Contax 645 medium format camera and rolls of kodak portra + tri-x I photographed Lucy and her parents at just shy of three weeks old. It was a good age, as she was more alert and interactive than one week and yet decidedly newborn. Most of the session was shot on film although it was a hybrid shoot and there are digital images included in this post as well.
