July feels like the half way point. Summer has started but there is plenty more to enjoy, and at the same time it feels like it’s going by quickly. My days consist mainly of editing, staying in touch with clients and running my business (when I’m not photographing) but I try to find time to sneak out and join this little one in the pool in the backyard and eat breakfast on the porch together.

Tierney sent me this bathing cap and prefaced it by texting me a few days before and saying “I got something for D I think you’re the only mom brave enough to put on her.” She knows me well because I had been wanting to get Daph into one. Even if the only people who see her in it are me, matt, the dogs + chickens I can share it with the world on instagram. Someone needs to invite us to the pool… either that or we need to visit Michigan really soon.

Anyways, next weekend is our triathlon and I’m feeling as prepared as I can be. I have done a terrible job becoming a morning person and I blame part of that on the fact that I work so late when I photograph weddings. Even if I get done at 9:30 or 10 there is at least an hour of driving afterwards. I hope to get back on track at some point and that brings me to my goals for this month. Let’s see where I was at last month and this is what I hope to accomplish in the next few weeks :

  • pick cherries
  • race the Musselman sprint + have fun
  • stick to my editing time frame for weddings
  • keep a water bottle with me and stay hydrated
  • take a sabbath 1x a week
  • submit 2 weddings to be featured (I use two bright lights to submit)
  • finalize fine art prints with margaret (these are going to be so amazing I can’t stand it)
  • go on a date with adktriguy

Hope you all have a fireworks blazing, watermelon filled, backyard games filled 4th! I’ll be shooting two weddings so save some of the fun for me when I’m done ;)

A classic Cape Cod wedding never goes out of style, especially at the Kittansett Club.

A Chautauqua wedding is stunning no matter the size. Karen and Walker pivoted to host the most amazing micro wedding at this historic American retreat.
