elegant gold Inns of Aurora wedding
The wedding of Sara and John was years in the making. That’s not to say that someone was dreaming up plans from the beginning – quite the opposite – they spent over a decade together before deciding that marriage was for them. They planned an elegant gold Inns of Aurora wedding that was inspired by the vibrancy of summer. In the end their wedding weekend was filled with epic details and thoughtful touches. Equal parts sophisticated and laid back, this finger lakes wedding is one for the record books.
Sara’s stunning tea length Monique Lhuillier gown was hand beaded and embroidered with gold sequins for just enough sparkle. Kate Ambrose from Groom Service did an amazing job complimenting her features and tying together her look.
The family’s Austin-Healey MK 3000 was driven down from Buffalo and made for a fun getaway!
Lynne Haberstock of Elle Events did an amazing job planning, the unique wedding bouquet was done by Maura Harrison, of Wegmans; the calligraphy and letterpress by Grace Edmands; and invitation + custom monogram by Emily McCarthy
The Inns of Aurora was a gorgeous setting (and my personal favorite finger lakes wedding venue) and allowed Sara and John to host all of their guests, have different backdrops and yet stay in the same place since the properties are so close by.

The tables had the most stunning settings – complete with monogrammed napkins showcasing the couple’s custom crest!
The night ended with lots of dancing, fun with sparklers and a beautiful view of the lake. I love shooting by the water with film since it captures light in a magical way I can’t replicate on digital. Thanks to the Find lab for processing my film!
