Coming home for a wedding is a tradition that I love. Inviting people to get to know a place dear to your heart and full of memories is a way to both enjoy the past and move forward in a new life as husband and wife. When home is in the finger lakes, and in Canandaigua specifically, it’s even more beautiful. Seriously – the finger lakes are just a hidden gem that keep people living here through the winters or returning every summer. A Bristol Harbour wedding comes with a stunning view of the lake and surrounding rolling hills. It was on a clear, sunny and all around gorgeous day that the wedding soon came, after years of planning.
In the cottages at Bristol Harbour the bridal party got ready and anticipated the events that soon unfolded before their eyes. Flowers were picked out to be included in all of the girls hair and guys carried the flasks they were given as a gift. Steel gray JCrew bridesmaids dresses were accented by the bright flowers on the groomsmen’s lapel and bridesmaid bouquets put together by Wegmans. Allison’s lace Watters wedding dress had both a lace bolero and and jeweled belt which she exchanged and wore at different times in the day. Sparkly silver Michael Kors midi heels peeked out from under her dress. She designed her graphic watercolor wedding invitations and accented each bridesmaid’s wrist with a sparkly JCrew statement bracelet. A ruffled three tiered wedding cake by the Incredibly Edible Cookie Company carried over the clean and elegant decor into the reception. It was simply stunning and it looked a little something like this.
Full of detail, thoughtfulness and grace Chris and Allison’s day was an elegant Bristol Harbour wedding that will forever treasured. I am so incredibly grateful to have become friends with these two through our process of planning and photographing. I need to photograph some of their friends weddings so I can see them again or maybe we should just convince them to have babies so a newborn shoot can happen. What do you think? Both. Perfect.
