Ithaca Wedding with Flowerwell

In the sleepy Finger Lakes region of New York an Ithaca wedding with Flowerwell and Apricity Event Co bloomed.

In the sleepy Finger Lakes region of New York an Ithaca wedding with Flowerwell bloomed. Colorful poppies, ranunculus and peonies took center stage. Inns of Aurora hosted the wedding weekend and is just a short drive from Cornell. Guests enjoyed a weekend on the lake and a taste of New York wine country. In fact, the welcome party had 8 different vineyards host a tasting. Sarah and Michael are based in D.C. but assembled a New York based team. The best Ithaca and Finger Lakes vendors gathered to make this weekend experience unforgettable.

Ithaca Wedding with Flowerwell at Inns of Aurora

Sarah and Michael are two self-proclaimed foreign policy nerds who met in grad school and fell in love. Their initial courtship was delayed by a few weeks due to Sarah having mistakenly (she swears) given Michael the wrong number).

When it came to proposing, it was on a moonlit beach walk that Michael popped the question. As if the proposal weren’t surprising enough, he brought all of their siblings down to the beach to ring in the weekend in style with delicious food, champagne, and yes, even some Karaoke (Michael sang, Sarah died of embarrassment).

Sarah knew that returning to the Aurora Inn, where her family had spent a lot of time together during her and her siblings’ undergraduate years at Cornell University, would be the perfect destination for their guests.

Apricity Event Co Welcome Party at Dutch Harvest Farm

The weekend started with a welcome party planned by Apricity Event Co at the picturesque Dutch Harvest Farm. AD Events created stunning bites of food served alongside wine from local vineyards. Mingling on the patio, lounges allowed everyone to relax before moving into the barn for a beautiful dinner. The highlight of the evening was the speeches. Family members shared their personal experience witnessing this love story come to life.

On the wedding day, everyone gathered on the bank of Cayuga Lake to witness a public declaration and commitment of their love. Family took the place of the bridal party so that friends could mingle and experience the event without pressure or performance. Flowerwell created beautiful organic arrangements that highlighted the summer color palette of peach, rose, orange and yellow. Delicate peonies stole the show. Chez le Marie painted custom watercolor scenes for the invitation suite.

To make the reception even more personal – and memorable – a belly dancer gave a performance. Sarah’s family has roots in Baghdad, Iraq, and no family event is complete without a belly dancing. The evening was electric as the energy of the dance floor carried on throughout the warm summer night. Sarah changed into a Black Halo jumpsuit so she could move freely in the evening. This Ithaca wedding weekend is for the record books!

A classic Cape Cod wedding never goes out of style, especially at the Kittansett Club.

A Chautauqua wedding is stunning no matter the size. Karen and Walker pivoted to host the most amazing micro wedding at this historic American retreat.
