Few places can rival the Adirondacks in the fall. The colors change unlike anywhere else and bright vibrant hues paint the mountainsides. The air is fresh and crisp, it invites you to be outside and take a deep breath. The sense of place you feel when in the Adirondacks cements it as location unlike any other. Kathleen had been coming up for years with her family to the house they owned in the mountains, and knew it would be the perfect spot to one day get married.
It wasn’t a day that was on her mind initially when she traveled to Michigan to attend college, or when she first met Ryan. It was a long way off, one of those ideas you toy with and indulge in thinking about when no one is looking. She soon landed an internship in New York City with a bridal magazine and dove in to the world of weddings, planning shoots, helping with stories and all the while considering what it was she one day wanted. It was when the magazine was planning an editorial and looking for a location that Kathleen suggested the Adirondacks. They took her suggestion, and she soon found herself at the Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid, realizing this was exactly where she wanted to have her wedding.
After several years in Chicago with Ryan, their relationship growing in strength and seriousness, he proposed. She said yes, and they began planning with plenty of time and anticipation the perfect Adirondack fall wedding. I was thrilled to be able to join them and photograph their elegant, rustic, and all together gorgeous wedding. Enjoy looking back at it with me…
