Whiteface Lodge Wedding
There is just so much that makes Amy-Lynn and Jake’s Whiteface Lodge Wedding in Lake Placid New York special. Not only does this couple have amazing style and creativity they were the most genuine and easy to work with. They brought together a great team which makes all the difference day of.
Elexis from Placid Planner orchestrated the event and was so on her game and joy to be around. Linda from Little Farmhouse Flowers grew the most amazing Icelandic Poppies (among other amazing flowers) and created the most stunning archway and arrangements. I’m going to be talking about the meadow floral installation at the sweetheart table for a long time.
To make this day even better, it was only 15 minutes from home. Most people invite me to join them farther from home, so finding the right couple to work with for a Whiteface Lodge Wedding in the Adirondacks is gold. Their story
The truth is, as much as I have been looking forward to this day and loved documenting it, this couple has been waiting even longer. However, after waiting 11 years for this day there was so much to celebrate and enjoy.
Their first meeting was as five year olds. It wasn’t until years later that they connected at their brothers game. They grew their relationship but also pursued their own dreams. They settled in Rochester New York and set down some roots. Lake Placid had always been a special place for Jake’s family. Their house on Mirror Lake was the gathering point for many great occasions. It only seemed right to have their wedding in a place so meaningful and enjoy the mountains and lakes that the Adirondacks have to offer.
The Whiteface Lodge was beautiful decorated with flowers by Little Farmhouse. The archway from the church was placed behind the sweetheart table. This year you guys are changing my mind on sweetheart tables! Maggie + Ian had a beautiful one as well.
These Birdies slippers are the perfect choice. Can you even with that pom-pom?
The Wedding Color Palette
Most people are including a pop of color on their wedding as opposed to an all white event. Amy-Lynn went even further by adding brightness throughout the event. I love it. Yellow, orange red and blue were major colors for the day. That coordinate with the blush, cream, and white palette worn by Amy-Lynn. She had two different looks. A dress by Lovers Society and Carol Hannah Skirt and belt. It allowed her flexibility to change for the reception.
The color palette was carried out in this cake by Enuf Chocolates was so simple and stunning.
Let’s get in to the flow of the day, now that you saw the highlights. The day started on Mirror Lake and the Whiteface Lodge. Soon the couple met at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Lake Placid for their ceremony.
There was so much fun after the ceremony enjoying time with family and taking pictures, since we did not do a first look. There was a second look – so Amy-Lynn was able to surprise Jake with the reception look she worn (which was without the Carol Hannah skirt).
