Speculator Wedding at Oak Mountain

This Speculator wedding at Oak Mountain took place just after the peak of fall. It was early October, still warm and beautiful. As a result it was exactly what Leah and Robert wanted. Originally, they planned a large gathering at Mountain Top Inn and Resort in Chittenden, Vermont. 2020 scaled back their plans and they ended up at one of their favorite places on earth.

Oak Mountain, the ski hill in Speculator, New York suddenly had their date open. With just family and closest friends in attendance, they gathered for a weekend at the family cabin. Hosting a weekend in Speculator was so stunning and meaningful at the same time.

Little Farmhouse Flowers came down to create the stunning fall inspired bouquets, boutonnieres and arch full of orange, mauve, aubergine and more. The texture and movement in this wedding bouquet was stunning.

The Swell Party by Tom Ellis catered the rehearsal dinner at the cabin to perfection over open fire. Multiple courses came out and guests mingled around the property – which is adjacent Deerfoot Lodge.

The wedding day arrived. Leah and Robert met on the dock for a first look. All photos were taken before the ceremony. In fact we even moved the time up once the forecast called for rain. The flexibility that comes with a small wedding is so helpful.

Speculator Wedding at Oak Mountain

At the top of Oak Mountain is a stunning view. With a platform built for ceremonies this arch is the exact spot Leah and Robert stood to exchange vows. Riding the chairlift up and down is an added bonus for couples and guest who love the outdoors.

Down by the main lodge is a tent that hosts the wedding reception. First guests road up for the ceremony at the top. Coming back down they enjoyed farmhouse tables with fall floral arrangements.

It was a stunning day. For adventurous and outdoorsy couples like Leah and Robert this setting was perfection. A mountain view never gets old and I loved photographing the day they shared.

Fun was had by all, even though the rain eventually came. It was such a memorable wedding weekend and I hope you loved looking back at it. Congratulations again Leah + Robert!

A classic Cape Cod wedding never goes out of style, especially at the Kittansett Club.

A Chautauqua wedding is stunning no matter the size. Karen and Walker pivoted to host the most amazing micro wedding at this historic American retreat.
