Of the sights we saw and places we visited in Albuquerque, Los Poblanos stays on my mind. I want to go back and spend some more time there, in fact I want to photograph a wedding there. It’s a historic inn + organic farm nestled nearby the Sandia mountains, surrounded by fields of lavender. It’s as magical as it sounds.
We stopped by at 4:42 on an quiet afternoon and had just enough time to peruse the farm shop. Outside red chile peppers hung to dry, chickens and guinea fowl kept busy in their coops, and a few peacocks wandered in and out of our path. Although the shop closed at 5, we used all the time we could to sample handmade lavender products and peruse small batch kitchen treats + wares before choosing a few to bring home. We ended up with a few Kei + Molly tea towels, among other things.
Besides the obvious advantage of visiting my family, I’m in love with the New Mexico landscape so when you start to plan your wedding out there, you need to let me know.
