learning film with a Holga

I love film. I just do, and I’m sure if you are in to photography you do as well. Isn’t it fun to play around with and have the even greater satisfaction of seeing images once they are developed instead of instantly? Don’t get me wrong I’m still a “can I see that picture” after it’s taken kind of girl, but I like not being like that. Matt gave me a Holga to take on our honeymoon and since then I’ve been using it very irregularly. I have a habit of bringing it with me and only taking a few pictures here and there, slowly filling up my rolls and letting the patiently sit and wait to be developed. I finally sent them in to Richard Photo Lab for developing + scanning, and here are a few favorites.

Now that I have a lab I know I can work with, and all exposed film is developed, it’s time to get into a new habit. Perhaps one that involves shooting film more often, what do you think?

I think this picture below is one of my favorites ever of Matt and I. We did a double exposure to get us both in the frame. While there’s never anyone around to take a picture of both of us this time I’m glad that was the case.

A classic Cape Cod wedding never goes out of style, especially at the Kittansett Club.

A Chautauqua wedding is stunning no matter the size. Karen and Walker pivoted to host the most amazing micro wedding at this historic American retreat.
