This Lake Placid Lodge modern wedding was elegant and stylish. The size of the day was intentionally small, no changes needed. The venue is one of the few in the Adirondacks that can feel intimate at any size. A couple can take over the property for the weekend, or slip in with a small group as Julia and Jim did. Adirondack Wedding Venue
One of my favorite things about the Lake Placid Lodge is their ability to give people an experience. Couples enjoy a ride on the Hackercraft after their ceremony along with champagne which gives them a moment to themselves. The Lodge also has connections with a local raptor organization that brings in owls and hawks, providing educational programing for guests.
Lake Placid Wedding Style
What I noticed first about this couple was their coolness and ease. Normally, a camera makes one silly or awkward. These two were calm. Photographing them was easy, but of course we shot an engagement session in Lake Placid a few months before. That always helps calm any wedding day nerves.
Julia chose a sleek and stunning Jenny Yoo gown for her ceremony, and paired it with simple gold jewelry and embellished crystal Jimmy Choo’s. The black platform heels were jaw dropping. For the reception she changed into a mini dress to show off those shoes and long legs. What can I say, I love her style. Both dresses were found at Gee June Bridal in Skaneateles, New York.
