A Blue Hill at Stone Barns Picnic Wedding is the best kind of intimate celebration. Actually I love this wedding no matter the size, because it is just unforgettable. Everything about Blue Hill is meaningful, so it only adds to a wedding day.
Morgan and Conor had different plans to celebrate in 2020. A stunning weekend at the Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, Vermont was supposed to gather everyone from near and far.
Like most couples they changed their plans due to covid-19, and postponed the big event until next year. I respect so much the ease with which they adapted. Take a look at this picnic wedding then leave a comment and share it with a friend.
Mary Dougherty Photography limits the number of wedding bookings each year to 15. Inquire to reserve on of those spots.
Blue Hill Stone Barns Picnic Wedding
In order to maintain a healthy environment small events are currently hosted at Blue Hill at Stone Barns outdoors. Picnic weddings allow social distancing and individual meals to be enjoyed. Food presentation is still special and the meal and experience is no less robust.
Dining at Blue Hill at Stone Barns
If food is high on your priority list when it comes to wedding planning, it doesn’t get better than Blue Hill. While menus are not offered, dining at Blue Hill is truly a feast. It is a multi taste/course experience where the best of what is on the farm is prepared.
After cocktail hour under the tent, guests moved to their table of 2-3 where a picnic basket was waiting. With several layers inside, there was plenty to discover. Dishes were also brought out on trays with long handles and placed by each table.
Blue Hill Wedding Cake
The cake made for the bride and groom was bursting with summer flavor. Chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream enclosed layers of fresh raspberries.
Garden Wedding Dress
It took trying on 40+ dresses at home to find something that suited the garden setting at Blue Hill farm. Eventually the dress Morgan wore from Zimmerman came in off backorder and arrived at her doorstep just in time. Blue suede heels from Tabitha Simmons complimented the look. For good luck, a six-pence was taped to the shoe.
Blue Hill at Stone Barns Wedding Pictures
There is no shortage of beautiful locations at Blue Hill Stone Barns. Orchards, fields, and of course the main stone barn and surrounding courtyards give many options no matter the lighting. The best advice I have is to take pictures at several different moments during the day. Light + location can change everything.
