Cobb’s Hill Bridal Session

Mary Dougherty x Silk Bridal x Pistil & Pollen collaborate on this bridal editorial

The sun came up as we create this Cobb’s Hill bridal session in Rochester, New York. Mary Dougherty Photography is based in the Adirondacks, but formerly lived in the Rochester area. I travel often along the east coast to locations as close as Vermont and Boston and as far as Virginia and Florida. This bridal session was captured in collaboration with Silk Bridal and Pistil & Pollen.

Cobb’s Hill Bridal Session

We kept things simple for this editorial. Early morning light set the stage in late September. Silk Bridal shared one of their stunning new Pronovias dresses. Our model Taylor Quinton, did her own hair + makeup since we had a last minute cancelation. Rochester based floral designers Pistil & Pollen created an organic mauve, rose and yellow bouquet. The crown, earrings, hair clips and accessories were also provided by Silk Bridal.

One trend I’m happy to see back for brides is sleeves. I almost regret wearing a strapless dress for my own wedding. Sleeves like these delicate dotted ones from Pronovias are offer a new level of elegance. Do you agree? Are sleeves something you wish you wore?

Although Cobb’s Hill is a reservoir close to downtown Rochester, NY it is beautiful. I’m grateful that 19th century buildings were made with so much style.

A classic Cape Cod wedding never goes out of style, especially at the Kittansett Club.

A Chautauqua wedding is stunning no matter the size. Karen and Walker pivoted to host the most amazing micro wedding at this historic American retreat.
