This Genesee Valley Club wedding has just the right amount of classic with a modern twist. It centered around a vibrant palette. Custom blue linens were accentuated with a pop of color. Expertly pulled off by Simply Beautiful Events and Arena’s decorating with florals, this Rochester wedding venue shined. Pink peonies, orange dahlias and an array of oranges combined the colors in a beautiful way.
Megan wore a gorgeous Rubin Singer dress found at Saks Fifth Avenue Bridal. Something Bleu created her feather shoes which were a Bunty D’Orsay kitten heel. The whole look came together with a modern set of pearls and a vintage purse.

The space at the Genesee Valley Club made getting ready on a wedding day easy. The girls started their day with hair and make up from Blush Beauty Bar. I came and photographed details and candid moments. Then came time for the dress, and a first look with dad. This staircase was made for that, don’t you agree?
St. Michaels is the gorgeous church where Father Juan Benitez officiated. Here is one of my favorite images, shot as the ceremony began by my amazing second photographer. Moments like these are a huge addition to the day.
The custom linen paired perfectly with the blue marbled cake and sugar flowers. Created in house by the pastry chef at Genesee Valley Club. Each wedding cake is so different a perfectly done!
the story of Megan + Jeff
It’s quite possible that for each relationship, the beginning happens at the exact right moment. The interesting thing is exact right moments aren’t perfect. They are often full of growth and change. Therefore, we find ourselves open to a new relationship in the first place.
Megan and Jeff met in Florida in one of those exact right moments. It started in the tiny beach town of Delray, Florida. Megan noticed Jeff’s amazing laugh first. An awkward facebook chat led to the best first date ever, and the rest is history.
Megan shared :
One thing that has been constant over the past five years together is laughter. What I loved most about our wedding was that the day was filled with it. Jeff and I met during a time that we were both rebuilding. The wedding felt like not only a celebration of our love, but a celebration of how far we both have come personally and professionally. We couldn’t have done it without our wonderful family and friends – and most importantly each other. Our wedding was modern, fresh and elegant… but also classic. Bringing an amazing group of vendors together allowed us to nailed our vision. As a result it was the best day of our lives, and we felt nothing but pure gratitude from start to finish.
I hope you can tell how much time and energy I pour into documenting a day like this. While many vendors come together, I start well before the wedding and finished long after. As a result I feel so incredibly close to each couple I take care of them like friends. Thank you, Jeff and Megan for inviting me in to your wedding and your lives.
