The possibilities of a winter session are both limited and endless. The same location is transformed with a blanket of white and gives the feeling of another world. The snow is an instant reflector and brightens up the scene while the chill in the air encourages – no, begs – you to draw in close. It’s a scene I love and New York puts it on so well.
When I first heard from Brendan and Karen, I knew I wanted to work with them. I am drawn to photograph genuine people who love deeply and they are such a couple. I stopped in Saratoga Springs on our way home from Vermont and met Brendan and Karen at her family’s property. In addition to her uncle’s farm across the road there are miles of trails that border a park and they were a perfect backdrop for us. I hope you enjoy these images as well and I look forward to photographing more of their story next fall.
