The past four weeks have been eye opening. I’ve posted a little bit about the adjustment it’s been – being a mom and running a business – and have spent these weeks operating under the false pretense that I can do it all. I have tried and have come to the conclusion that I can’t. I’m either not sleeping, not responding to clients needs, not being present for Daphne and it’s time for that to stop. On top of that there’s been a external hard drive failure, the removal of a suspicious looking mole (turned out to be ok) as well wisdom teeth surgery for Matt. So yes, it has been a busy time of year.

Too many times, however, we let the busy excuse trump all else. It takes over and keeps us from living how we want to. So, while I haven’t enjoyed feeling like I’m letting someone down, it’s made me reevaluate where I’m at. What are my priorities as a business owner, mom, wife, friend, etc.. and how can I work towards the goals I set instead of just treading water to get by? I want to be a better communicator with clients and make sure their needs are met. I feel like in the past four weeks I have not been able to do that. I also want to be there for Daphne and not overwhelmed with what I could be doing while with her.

So, all that to say, if you have been thinking “how does she do it all?” the answer is : I don’t! I’m figuring out what I can handle and getting help with the rest. Here’s to living more fulfilled lives that are balanced, working effectively instead of just working more!
