Traveling en route to Florida, I spent some time in Georgia with Kaylan and John – whose wedding I shot last May. Since May Kaylan has second shot a few weddings with me, and dove into photography so we’ll all have to look for more from her. The night I arrived J+K had their latest from Netflix – The Shining. Classic scary movie that we considered watching, but after deciding it would be best to not encourage nightmares (and since I’ve pretty much given up scary movies – it’s true I can’t take it) we settled on What Happens in Vegas and I slept soundly save the loudly ticking clock on the wall next to me. The next day Kaylan took me out to a few places so that we could do a mini shoot of each other (everyone needs updated pictures of themselves, right?) and we ended up at a farmers field, a grassy knoll, and an abandoned house. There was a lot to work with and it was fun to shoot in the Georgia countryside… and if you want to see the pictures she shot of me head to her blog.

Now, you probably know if you’ve been photographed – either by a professional or friend – you need some type of direction… and when you’re with friends sometime that direction can get a little crazy. Which is why at one point I told Kaylan to give me “Little House on the Prairie” and “The Shining” in honor of the movie we didn’t watch. The latter wasn’t hard to do in the abandoned house where (don’t read this if you don’t like gross things) there was a dead bat hanging from the ceiling. I’m sorry! I had to tell you just like I had to take a picture of them – but I won’t show that since I’m sure that’s not what you want to see. What you do want to see is the gorgeous Kaylan, acting natural and having fun, so here you go….
