I loved the great location that I was able to take Maretta + Paul’s engagement photos. Do you like that iron gate as much as I do? I’m sure you recognize it in the blog header as well… I decided to leave that photo out of this post since it was up there already, but it’s one of my fav’s. We met up in downtown Ottawa where Maretta is going to school to enjoy the fabulous architecture and it was worth it. Full of culture, history, and the capital of Canada, Ottawa is such a fun place to visit.
They were a blast, as you can see and so cute together. Maretta loved the camera – and it loved her! haha some people are just more natural and comfortable where as others feel a little self conscious in front of the camera. Look at those gorgeous brown eyes too! I can’t wait to see how fabulous their wedding will be. I originally met Maretta through her cousin, and one of my best friends, Mary Claire. Can you see the resemblance? Random fact: last year she and Paul came down with Mary Claire for a quick visit through the area and stayed at my apartment… and I guess it was during that time that they got hooked on The Office, since I had a season on dvd in my apartment. I was happy to help though being hooked myself :]
I love when there are sculptures to interact with, and there is always interesting art in downtown areas. This sculpture commemorates the famous five; five women who fought for women’s rights in Canada. Even though this may not be M+P’s favorite from the day (or maybe it will be), I love the laugh + genuine reaction. After our time walking around downtown we went to a nearby starbucks to get out of the rain and enjoyed some hot drinks to warm us up. Yum! It was a blast to enjoy downtown with you two, thanks for the beaver tail, and I’m so excited for the wedding!
