Hints of spring are starting to appear in New York… and I couldn’t be happier. It was a rough winter, for several reasons, and the weather was just the final straw that made us daydream of a happier climate. In fact, moving is on our horizon and I look forward to officially breaking away from a place that has caused a lot of pain. Is isn’t it interesting to find yourself at the brink of change? Many of us have been there, stepped to the edge and backed away. It looks like we must leap, but sometimes we just fail to look down and see the stairs waiting to lead us away. Change is hard because we believe the lies we have been told about ourselves. That we have to play it safe, or that we can’t do something new, or that we won’t make it. It could be any number of things that we tell ourselves, but rarely do we remind ourselves that we are brave, or resilient or worth it.
After the hardest of winters spring comes. The wintery landscape melts away and the world comes to life. It’s a miracle to see it unfold, yet there were times this year I didn’t believe it could be true. While the seasons may change whether you believe it or not we rarely do without conviction and determination.
