It was a beautiful, early fall weekend in Lake George when Lindsay + Brian arrived. Navy and peacock details adorned the bridal party and decorations at Top of the World Resort, where the whole weekend was hosted. The lake peeked through fog and the view was vast and beautiful. It seemed like yesterday that Lindsay reluctantly agreed to go out with Brian and to her surprise fell in love. They matched each other in both wit and adventure and both had a passion that drove them to succeed. The Adirondacks were a special place to both of them and they knew the upstate New York area was where they would host their day. When everyone gathered for their Lake George Wedding and celebrated under the brisk night air until they couldn’t dance any longer everything felt right with the world.
Few get the perfect fall weather that is hoped for when planning a New York wedding, and on this day it was actually quite rainy. While everyone is afraid of a rainy day, these two walked through the grass and held their umbrella and made the most of taking pictures on their wedding day. We did get soaked in the process, but it also cleared up enough during the reception to take some portraits and capture the view once the fog had lifted. The morning after, I suggested we get up for a day after session to really capture some of what we missed the day before and that time we had sunny skies and much better conditions.
So what do you do when it’s rainy? You roll with the punches, you embrace what happens, because really that’s what marriage is all about. Hardly any wedding day is perfect, and in my book it’s all about documenting the events that unfold and the emotion of the day in any condition. I’m so glad I was able to travel for this Adirondack wedding and document each detail, and take a look at the beauty we captured. Congratulations once again Lindsay + Brian!
