Home. It’s a place. It’s a feeling. It’s the person you want to spend your life with. In the words of Allison, the officiant and close friend of the couple, Olivia and Greg are home. It was a long journey to get here, one that started back in high school and meandered together and then apart and then together again. The first time Greg and Olivia saw each other – after high school – was at a mutual friend’s wedding. Olivia was living in New York city teaching and Greg decided to pursue a relationship with her – a serious let’s make this work kind of relationship – and moved there to be close to her.
They had found each other, and it was a finding that involved years of uncovering until they knew their souls had met their match. So it was with her grandmother’s diamond reset in a new beautiful ring that Greg proposed to Olivia. Their Inns of Aurora wedding took place just a few weeks ago on a hot July day that felt quintessentially like summer. It was both elegant and relaxed, refined and casual as guests enjoy dinner under the beautifully draped tent and then walked down to the lake for s’mores by the fire.
The Inns of Aurora may be my new favorite finger lakes wedding venue since there is so much variety in one location that easily hosts a whole event. Any day spent by the lake in the summer is a good one in my books, but Olivia and Greg’s wedding was unforgettable. I hope you enjoy looking back at their Inns of Aurora wedding and I’d love to hear what you think!
