It was animals that brought them together, and birds to be specific. They are inspiration for a modern version of Cinderella waiting to be written, where Matt rides in on his bicycle and Jen crafts herself a glass slipper in her glass blowing studio. In reality their story began caring for injured birds of prey at Wild Wings in Mendon Ponds Park. Jen was volunteering at the time when Matt asked her how to get involved. They volunteered – always at different times – until one day when Matt was able to strike up a conversation and convince Jen to go on a bike ride that ended up being rained out and they went out to dinner instead. The rest may be history, but I am sure this story is going to be a good one and I am thrilled to be a part of documenting it.
We started their engagement session at Restaurant Good Luck, and continued over to Highland park so that we could include the whole family – their two rescued greyhounds. I loved shooting through the old mirrored glass on the Good Luck walls – glass that was sourced from the glass blowing studio Jen works at. Good Luck is just a gorgeous location so I’m always thrilled to work there – and eat there. I have yet to combine the two. Enjoy the images that we captured and I look forward to showing you their wedding next year!
