I want you to dream up an engagement session, and then I want to photograph it. The details of the session – the location, style, theme, etc… will all be decided by you. Sessions can be detailed and complex or simple and spontaneous, but most importantly they should say sometime more about you. So put your thinking cap on, start collecting ideas, and create an inspiration board that you would like to step in to.

A snowy afternoon walk through the woods? An adventure to all your favorite spots through the city? Deciding simple things like where you would like the shoot to take place, what you might wear and what things you would do will help paint a picture of your session. The best boards will not necessarily be the most complicated, but the most clear and cohesive… and ultimately you, the blog readers will decide on a winner.

You can use any means to create your inspiration board – you can do it online (polyvore/pinterest), on your computer, or good old paper + glue. There is a limit of one entry per person, and to enter email your board and a few words of explanation to me: hello at marydougherty.net – you have until 12 am / midnight EST on February 18th 25th to do so. The winner must be engaged and will have not only have their session photographed but will receive a disc of finished images. By creating your board you should be prepared to gather up the pieces and parts to make it happen and if it involves travel be willing to pay for my expenses. The free session can’t be exchanged for money or other products & services from Mary Dougherty Photography whether you are a current client or not. If the winner decides to forfeit the win and not follow through with putting together the session, the prize will go to the next place. I will select the top three boards (assuming there are three entries) and post them online for you blog readers to vote on next Monday. I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with and I’m really looking forward to turning a fabulous idea into reality!
