Their delicate blooms and soft petals were everywhere, the perfect introduction to spring. Since they blossomed early this year I coincidentally was in DC at their peak. It was also a coincidence that one of my closest high school friends was spending just two days in DC as well, since she and her fiance were speaking to congress. Yes, her life just became a lot more interesting than mine – she also lives in Montana and tracks wolves in Yellowstone. We hadn’t seen each other in three years so we met at the mall and walked around some of the monuments and enjoyed the cherry blossoms. She’s getting married this summer and I can’t wait to join her to celebrate, and document the day. I think you’ll want to check back to see those when the time comes, but until then I have a few pictures of the cherry blossoms to share. If you haven’t been to DC this is a great time to visit so start planning a trip to see this in person.
