The Bark Eater Inn is a wedding and elopement venue. It sits tucked into the high peaks of the Adirondack mountains in Keene, New York. This stunning setting is one of the few on location Adirondack wedding venues that can be completely private. As a result, one could plan a destination wedding that easily fills the property and invites guest to a secluded luxury experience.
Savannah + Erik planned a weekend wedding in August. Family and friends could come celebrate and enjoy a mountain getaway. Then the pandemic came and they adjusted plans. We created a beautiful elopement inspired engagement shoot instead.
The main house of the inn can accommodate 12 people in 6 different rooms. The woods hold two cabins. One is big enough for 6-10 and the other for 2 people. On site there are several locations for a ceremony, a tent and of course views all around of the high peaks. It is home to a beautiful garden full of flowers and the butterflies it attracts. It sits close to Lake Placid, Jay, Wilmington and Elizabethtown.
If you are just discovering my work, I am glad you are here! I’m Mary Dougherty, an Adirondack based destination photographer. As an artist who builds relationships, teach you how to move naturally for the camera. Therefore my candid images are full of feeling. I bring the beauty of you love story to life.
Movement is a big inspiration for my work. As a result, I direct people through scenes instead of poses. I love capturing in between moments and allowing things to unfold. Therefore, if you are a photographer looking to refine your craft consider coming to my workshop.
You won’t find a bad view at this venue. For instance, several optimal locations are on property, here are a few :
Individual champagne from Usual and a boutonnière made with a bandaid are perfect elopement details. Above all, keeping things simple is key.
