It actually did take a long time to decide on where to take engagement photos. In a classic case of thinking through every option, we considered it all. Ali and Matt are getting married this summer in Rochester, New York at the beautiful Genesee Valley Club. We considered shooting there during a trip home from Atlanta, but ultimately decided that with their busy work schedules that brought them all over the country and world, I should come to them. When we started to research the places that would look best, Cator Woolford engagement photos were a clear choice.

Destination Engagement Session

Something you should know about me, and perhaps you already do, is that I love to travel for my couples. While I have shot weddings in Portland, Oregon and Maine, Montana, and even Sydney Australia… these days I tend to shoot in the northeast and have a destination engagement session. Sometimes that means traveling together to a favorite spot, other times it’s coming to the place you now call home. Most of my couples are planning from a distance so it’s nice to tell the story of your life in a place that holds so many memories.

That was certainly the case for Ali and Matt, who met while in graduate school at Duke. Atlanta turned out to be the city they would really give themselves a chance to see if this relationship would work, and it did. They were engaged outside of their adorable house and started planning their New York Wedding soon after.
