The best time to take engagement photos in Annapolis is exactly when we did – mid August. However, there are so many times that Annapolis is beautiful I won’t try to pick just one. If you are planning a shoot I wouldn’t blame you for copying this engagement session because it honestly went so well. We started in the naval yard and moved to our second location an hour in – a boat docked nearby and watched the sun set.
Maggie and Ian chose the best time to shoot an engagement session in Annapolis, and brought me down before their Skaneateles wedding.
The second reason this was the best time to shoot an engagement session is because I was able to escape a house infected with HFM. Seriously though, that was a perk. I’m sorry for abandoning you Matt.
How they met
So who is this glamours couple giving off old Hollywood vibes in a modern stunning way? Maggie & Ian.
Long before they even met Maggie’s brother had a friend in flight school. A friend he never mentioned to his sister, talked about as someone she should know or even hinted at a possibility. However at the Florida Georgia football game Maggie and Ian met for the very first time. It wasn’t long after that they started having 4 hour conversations as they built their long-distance relationship.
Getting Engaged
The first 3 1/2 years they were long-distance and in total they have been together for four. Ian was stationed across the country in Washington for a while before being assigned to shore duty back at the Naval Academy. They had a weekend where inside they were going to look at houses together and instead they ended up at a park with a romantic date. Something that looked suspiciously like an proposal was set up. Maggie thought to herself that they should leave so that they didn’t interrupt but as they got closer she realized it was for her.
Soon after Maggie finished up school and started her nursing career down in Annapolis and they began planning their Skaneateles wedding from the same place. It was so much fun to visit their city and document something for them that speaks to where they are right now.
