The weeks have been flying by – it’s august tomorrow and there’s not much summer left, but no one wants to think about that, I’m sorry for bringing it up. Well this week for me has been a bit of a blur. After my out and back trip to NY for Stephanie+Brendan’s wedding (above + yes it was fabulous) I went to work on finishing up some portrait photos and editing Kaylan+John’s wedding. Wedding take up a considerable amount of time, which would be why it is such an investment. I usually do some initial editing to get some pics out right away, but then I’m not able to return to the wedding and completely edit it until later – or I work on it little by little. Depending on the number of photos + time I spent photographing, I spend a good 4-5 days only on the wedding. Like I said below, it’s invigorating to finish and I only wish I could get them done sooner for everyone.
I stayed up last night getting 85% done with K+J’s wedding, but I had to finally go to bed at midnight since I had a running date in the morning (well it wasn’t like a date date – you know what I mean). I don’t know about you, but I have a real sense of accomplishment after getting a good workout done in the morning, and today was definitely one of those days. Of course, this usually doesn’t happen on my own- it requires running with someone else or a group to get something really good like a speed workout in. I haven’t done one of those in a few months so I knew it would be hard work – but I survived and did better than expected. Oh, I should mention – well, if you know me, you know I’m a runner – but this fall Matt & I are doing the Baltimore 1/2 marathon which will be my first half so some more serious training is part of the plan to prepare.
So, that brings me to my sense of accomplishment that’s carried me throughout the day. I’ve completely finished K+J’s wedding and posted all the photos for fam+friends to see, ordered an album, and did some backing up of images on alternate hard drives. Matt + I took a trip for some groceries, stopped by a bakery for bread and a local butcher/meat market and picked up some locally raised pork spare ribs for a ridiculously low $3. Matt has been talking about starting a food blog since at least 5 months ago, and with our trip today for delicious + local food, my sense of accomplishment, and the plans for homemade pasta for dinner, I went ahead and got the blog started. There’s nothing on it now, so I won’t share it yet but – again, if you know Matt + I you know we like to cook so we should have more than enough material to work with.
