It took a few years of living outside of Lake Placid to find my favorite salon – Katherine Elizabeth Salon. As a green beauty salon she uses natural product (love Davines) and I personally have my hair done by her. Kat is wildly talented. She is an Adirondack and Vermont hair and makeup artist that can do it all.

For this shoot we collaborated to create a day to night look for both hair and makeup. Natural makeup looks were important, as many brides are interested in a no makeup look. With our stunning model, Ruby, we captured both a sleek top knot and hair down – which was my favorite.

Soft pink makeup enhanced her brown eyes, while a partial curl to her long locks created more interest to her hair down look. Two stunning Leanne Marshall dresses finished our day to night looks.

Having started Katherine Elizabeth Salon on the island of Hawaii, she built her regular clientele and worked with a host of celebrities. When her family decided to move to snowy Lake Clear she built a salon of her own. Locals know her name and she is highly recommend for haircuts, color and the like. I’m always amazed to find who else is living in the Adirondacks.
